Jimmy Dinh's Blog

Daily, I spend most 2 hours with each client. There are whole variety live stories that I have been chatting and sharing and learning wisdom, experiences, challenging lives with my clients. One to two hours for each client in at lease once a month give me such of wonderful time to hear good, bad, sad and fun stories from the their diversity mood, happiness.

I have grown up by my clients from my behaviors, thoughts, English through the American culture. I enjoy the time that it is not only to make them to have pretty lashes, but also I enjoy communicate with them.

As they come to my chair for relaxing and sleep for a good deep nap, then I enjoy their sleeping. I believe that whoever are bad or good or nice or mean person, while they are sleeping, they all show the same their good energy and innocent faces to me. I love to enjoy that.

As they are snore, that means they have very sound sleep. That is good energy sleeping to me. They don’t bother me at all. Clients keep apologize to me as they snore louder, I tells “don’t worry. I enjoy your snore sound because I can feel you charging lot energy for yourself. Snore is good. I love you snore, so you have a wonderful nap with beautiful lashes after you leave my shop” I don’t care others saying that snore is an illness from snore. To me it is normal. I don’t think I snore, but I enjoy others snore as I am awake.

FIRST CLIENTS, THEN MONEY.

I always think about the client first before I take their money. There are many clients who I send home because their lashes need rest, relaxation and/or treatment. Most of them are first time clients who have damaged their lashes from other bad techniques, rollers, artificial lashes, bad habits like picking their lashes, etc. Sometimes my new clients need to take off their ugly eyelash extensions from other techniques before they get my pretty lashes. I take off the lashes for them without charge and then sent them home for few months treatment before they came back to me for the new sets. I lose income from these appointments, but I am happy to do it because I listen to my heart to do what is best for my clients.

I always try to be creative for my clients’ eyelash styles and use best practices to help their lashes stay pretty, healthy and strong. This is especially important for my clients who like to wear my eyelash extensions almost every day. Our “Magically Unique Technique,” developed by my twin brother, Daniel, is the most perfect way in the world for eyelash extensions. I still focus on each single lash as I apply it to each individual lash of my clients. This technique does little or no damage to my clients’ lashes. But even with the best techniques, there are going to be times when your eyelashes need time to rest and recuperate. I usually recommend they rest their lashes for 3-6 months as needed. Depending on how my clients maintain their lashes by following my “after care instructions,” I tell them when their lashes need to rest and for how long.

I always try to make my clients very happy about my lashes and service. I have had many emergency appointments when my clients required eyelash extensions for their special events. Sometimes if needed, I work before 7 am or past midnight. For wedding parties, I offer my clients free short eyelash refills a few days before they have their wedding parties, so their lashes look very fresh and pretty on their big day. I love to receive and gladly accept new and unusual ideas (I call it Wisdom) from clients and their individual requirements to adjust or fix the lashes to make a more unique style for my clients’ make-up or to match my clients’ individual lifestyles.

When necessary, I can try to finish my lash sets in a short amount of time for unusual or difficult situations. But even when applying the lashes must be rushed, I always try to give my clients perfectly beautiful natural lashes. Sometimes clients are late for their appointment, anxious or fearful and I need to finish the job in a shorter time. I try to make my clients feel comfortable, relaxed, and ask them stay as long as they can. “I am here with you in a very safe environment, thinking about blue sky and beautiful beaches you have been to. You will have pretty lashes when you leave my salon. I try to make these anxious clients feel calm and safe with me. “Please, let me put more lashes in here, and there, please stay here for 5 more minutes,” I beg them. “Jimmy, are you addicted to applying lashes,” clients curiously ask. “Yes, I am addicted. But only for making beautiful lashes for you,” I confess. Sometime, I tell my clients that I am not satisfied with my lashes for them because I hoped that they would have more time for me. “I can give better lashes than these,” I say. “Jimmy, my lashes look very pretty and nice. I love my lashes very much. What are you talking about,” my clients correct me. I always think about clients first before I take their money.

I have always tried to make my clients happy and finish my lashes even when they were abusing me while I was applying lashes for them. I held in my tears as they yelled at me or smoked while I applied lashes at their home although I asked them to stop doing that. However, don’t get me wrong. More than ninety-nine percent of my clients were nice and loved me. There were a few bad clients like that, but I still survived and finished my beautiful job for their new pretty lashes. I tried to win whenever I had difficult clients by using my positive energy. One time, I told a celebrity client that I wouldn’t do her lashes again because she was abusing me and I won’t let her do that to me again because I respected myself and love myself more than I was addicted to make her pretty lashes.

Occasionally, the eyelash extensions can drop off very quickly. I feel upset as much as my clients because I feel bad. Sometimes my clients come from another town and it takes them more than 2 hours to drive back and forward to my shop and spent at least an hour and half patiently lying down for my lashes. That was not right and fair. There are many possible reasons that could cause the eyelash extensions to drop. However, I still take care good of my clients and redo them with a new set for much less or without charge. Nobody is at fault - I just fix the lashes for them.

Some clients gave me too much tip, I always try to return back some of the tip to the clients to make it a fair and reasonable amount of tip. If my clients resist taking back some of their tip, then I use this tip money for charity for poor families in Vietnam.
